Science begins wherever a question can be made real enough to try.
- Do not require credentials before a person may build and test a serious question.
- Make the smallest real version: a proof, program, experiment, instrument, or world.
- When the problem resists, change the representation—not only the amount of search inside it.

- Compare what the old and new representations let you predict, prove, perceive, or do.
- Keep what survives. Repair or discard what does not.
